IVF

Meaning…
In vitro fertilization is a procedure by which egg cells are fertilized by sperms outside the body, in vitro.  The term in vitro comes is used because in early biological methods or experiments involving growing or cultivating of tissues is carried outside the living organism from which they came, were carried out in glass containers like test tubes or petri dishe, beakers.
When it is used..??
It is a major treatment in infertility when other methods of reproductive technology have failed.
Is IVF safe..??
To start with safety concern, it is important to know that no medical facility is free of risk. IVF is also no exception to it. However, any of the decision is taken regarding IVF that whether to proceed or not with a medical treatment we must take the risk/benefit ratio in consideration. When it comes to in vitro fertilization, the risks are not the same for all cases. There may be cases where patients/couples are at very low risk while others at higher risk. As with all medical procedures, it is good to provide all necessary information to the parents/couples so that they can make an informed decision.
Procedure…
Consists of 5 important steps
1: Control ovarian hyperstimulation (COH)
 2: Egg retrieval

3: Fertilization and embryo culture

4: Embryo quality & transfer

 5: Embryo implantation

Cost..

Since the average cost  is around $12,000, many couples are forced to settle for a less effective type of Assisted Reproductive Technology because they are more affordable than IVF is.

Success rates
The age of the female is the most significant factor in treatment cycle success.

The average success rate for each IVF treatment cycle by age in the UK is:

• 29.6% for women under 35

• 23.6% for women aged 35-37

• 18.2% for women aged 38-39

• 10.0% for women aged 40-42

• 3.2% for women aged 43-44

• 0.8% for women aged over 44

All those artificial techniques bring happiness to the people, it is always good to see a new life whether from natural or artificial insemination.
People may worry about these techniques and there side effects but I personally feel you should once consult the specialist before making any myth. After all become a parent is all desire and it is the GOD's most beautiful gift.

What is IUI…???

Artificial Insemination has four major techniques
Intrauterine insemination, Intravaginal insemination, Intracervical insemination, and Intratubal insemination
Meaning Of IUI
It, is the technique by which sperms are placed into the uterine cavity with the help of a canula  known as Intra Uterine Insemination, impregnating the female by using means other than sexual intercourse or natural insemination.
When  IUI  Is used……????
It is used in some cases of male infertility, like low sperm counts . IUI may also be used if the woman's cervical mucus is less than actual.  Also, in cases of unexplained infertility..
Steps In Intra Uterine Insemination.
1. Beginning drug treatment: - Usually gonadotropins to stimulate the growth of follicles and cause ovulation.
2. Monitoring drug treatment: - As fertility drugs can produce many eggs, monitoring is important during the drug treatment phase in order to reduce the  side effects or the risk of multiple pregnancy a. It  is carried out by measuring estrogen concentrations in blood samples, and by tracking the development of follicles by ultrasound.
3. Inducing ovulation: - When one or two follicles have reached their target size, ovulation is induced with another hormone injection (hCG).
4. Collecting sperm sample: - During the morning of ovulation, a sample of fresh semen is collected by the male and then washed. It is inseminated later that day.
5. Injecting sperm into uterus: - Sperm is inserted through the cervix and placed high into the uterus of the female partner through a fine catheter. This procedure is quite painless, comparable to a pap test.

Success Rate
In a survey it is found that just 4% of women got pregnant per cycle without fertility drugs, that's  is very low success rate in comparison to IVF but IVF is much expensive then  IUI, so  increasing cycles of IUI is a good option.
